Mr. Friedman is responsible for all levels of Investment Banking & Municipal Law recruiting efforts. He oversees all recruiting nationwide representing both Regional, Super Regional, and Bulge Bracket Investment Banking firms as well as Regional and National Law Firms. Mr. Friedman is tasked with the responsibility for overseeing and managing all aspects of client and candidate relationships from initial interview to transition.
A few of Mr. Friedman’s achievements at Novum Group include Rookie of the Year in 2012 and being named to President’s Club each full year of his tenure at Novum. He credits the culture of coaching and education at Novum Group, along with his in-depth knowledge of Public Finance and the Legal arena for his success. As he is fond of saying; “When you know the industry inside and out, senior people welcome the opportunity to have high level conversations with you."
During his tenure with M.L. Stern & Co, Mr. Friedman held the position of Senior Investment Banking Manager. His responsibilities included the structuring, analysis and underwriting of tax exempt municipal bonds and leases on behalf of public agencies and private issuers. In 1988, Mr. Friedman formed the consulting firm of h.a.f. STRATEGIES, the predecessor to Lightning Development Group, in order to better serve the project financing needs of the developer. As a financing consultant to the developer, Mr. Friedman provided the expertise needed to utilize the various public financing mechanisms available for the funding of infrastructure. He has been responsible for over 500 million dollars in community facilities districts and special assessment district funding.
Mr. Friedman graduated from The George Washington University in 1978, earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree, and Western State University College of Law in 1983 (Thomas Jefferson Law School), earning a Juris Doctor Degree. As part of his continuing education, in 1995 he earned his GRI( Graduate Realtor Institute) and his California Real Estate Broker License, which he currently holds
